Mr. Edward H. Linde serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Boston Properties and has been a director since June 23, 1997. Mr. Linde co-founded Boston Properties in 1970 after spending five years at Cabot, Cabot & Forbes, where he became Vice President and Senior Project Manager. Mr. Linde serves as a Vice Chairman and Chairman-Elect of the Board of Trustees of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and a director of Jobs for Massachusetts. He is a past chairman of the Board of the Beth Israel Hospital, which subsequently merged to become the Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center , where Mr. Linde serves as a trustee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. Mr. Linde is a member of the Executive Committee of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts and a member of the Board of Directors of The Real Estate Roundtable. Mr. Linde received a BS in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1962 and an MBA from Harvard Business School. His son, Douglas T. Linde, serves as our Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer.
